Mr. Frankie Falgout, of Larose, is the son of Floyd Sr. and Rena Mae Adams Falgout. Frankie and Angela Folse have been married for 34 years and he is the son-in-law of Jules and Shirley Folse of Raceland. Frankie and Angela are the parents of Drew, Jude and Crystal. He has 6 siblings, 36 nieces and nephews, 41 great nieces and nephews ... FAMILY is very important to the Falgout's.    Read More

All of us know French Food Festival is the last full weekend in October, but does anyone realize why this year is special?  We will be celebrating the 40th Annual French Food Festival – big time!  This festival has grown from a few ideas in someone’s home to our present format – an expansion to Thursday. Last year a committee decided to add a new element and French Food Fest ROCKS was born.  With a Jazz Festival atmosphere – an outdoor stage on the Bantam Football Field – an appreciative crowd enjoyed an evening of music.  Of course, in typical south Louisiana style, we added some good eats!    Read More

French Food Announces New Royalty Selection Process

In association with the 40th Anniversary of the French Food Festival, the Bayou Civic Club, Inc. is pleased to announce a new, contemporary Royalty Selection Process. Any young ladies between the ages of 15 – 23 that are interested in representing the volunteer-based French Food Festival and the Bayou Civic Club are required to attend a mandatory informational meeting on Tuesday, July 30th in the Board Room of the Larose Civic Center at 6:00 pm.    Read More

Local Favorite Gary T. gets French Food Festival going!

Both father and son are avid songwriters and story tellers.  Both combine a local flair, a cajun twist and a musical talent appreciated in this area.  Their hit “Take My Hand” has garnered them Duo of the Year and Song of the Year from a popular Lafayette magazine.

Gary T.’s CD’s can be purchased from the local favorite La. Cajun Stuff store in Southland Mall in Houma.  Mr. Gary has long been a festival favorite and when asked how many years  he’s been “opening French Food Festival” as our annual Friday night tradition his reply was  8 or so years.  Mr. Gary has played many sessions at many French Food Festivals though throughout the years.
